1/18/2024 0 Comments Expedit shelf desk![]() It makes it safe so that it can’t get pulled down on top of anyone should someone decided to climb or pull up on the unit. I also secured the whole unit to the wall. I used 4 braces, two on each upright unit. Screw the mending braces into the unit to brace it together. Mark off where you want to brace your unit together and pre-drill the holes for the screws. We used 3/4″ wood screws to secure the mending braces. The mending braces (affiliate link) we used were 3-1/2″ by 1-3/8″. To do that, you will need mending braces, a drill bit, screws, and a screwdriver. Next up in our IKEA built in hack is to secure the units together so that they will be safe. They still don’t line up exactly perfectly, but no one notices because it is so close you really can’t tell…unless you are looking for it. I’m a little picky with things like this, so it took me a little bit to get it how I wanted it. If the bubble isn’t in the center, keep working to get the units dry fit together properly. If your level has the bubble in the center you are good to go. You can do that by using a level on the side of the upright and top unit. Take your time and line up the upper unit with the bottom units. I used two upright as the sides of the unit and one laid flat on top of the two upright. Step 2: Dry Fit Your Pieces TogetherĪs you can see in the picture above, once you have your units together, you’ll want to dry fit them together. To start this IKEA built in hack, you’ll need to buy and put together your IKEA Expedit. Step 1: Put together IKEA Expedit/Kallax Units That includes the 3 Expedits/Kallax units, 4 door kits, and the hardware to secure them together. This DIY IKEA shelf (not including the desk and chair) cost me about $245 to buy and put together. Mending Braces (affiliate link)- 3-1/2″ by 1-3/8″.You just need to know how to use a drill as well as how to put IKEA furniture together. I also planned to place a desk in the center to create a place to study or get ready in the morning. I came up with the idea to buy 3 IKEA Expedits and create my own IKEA built in hack to make a shelving unit with lots of storage. I looked for ideas and saw something similar to this, but it wasn’t quite the same and had zero directions. You can read more about when we moved our girls into their own rooms. We knew we needed additional storage in this room as it is a smaller room. It turned out fantastic and added so much storage. When we moved my girls’ rooms around, I used an IKEA Expedit (now called the IKEA Kallax) to make a great shelving unit and desk in my oldest daughter’s room. The DIY IKEA shelf I created can easily be used as we’ve used it or it would work great as an entertainment center, in an office or computer area, and so many other ways. It is a simple IKEA built in hack that I think most anyone can do. I’m excited to share today’s post with you.

1/18/2024 0 Comments Openoffice base table loses data![]() In other tests I have done it seems that the text from tables is not always lost. I have got a file that can be used to demonstrate this behaviour. Obviously I had saved the file on closure. I then recreated some of the rows in the table, save the file again, closed the presentation and re-opened it and yet again text was missing from the table. On re-opening the file later in the day I found that some fonts had changed to Times New Roman but more worryingly the table was empty! All the text had disappeared. I saved the presentation without giving it any thought, and because the presentation was important before I shut down my laptop I copied the presentation file (I saved it in ODP format, although the slides I based the presentation on originally came from a PPT) to a USB key. I created a table of 2 columns and several rows and added and formatted text. I then edited the table to change the new ID field to “AutoValue” is YES.I had a really nasty problem with Impress the other day which I am able to recreate with a particular presentation file.In order to see which fields needed a larger length, I inserted columns in the Calc spreadsheet source with the formula =LEN(cell) Does anyone know? [!!! UPDATE: My data was NOT all there because a few of the records contained fields with more characters than defined in the Base table. Value too long in statement īecause my data is there, I’m not sure whether I still need to adjust something in order to avoid any problems in the future. Although it appears that all my data copied over, I still got the following Warning message:.The table was created… but now I have a few followup questions: I received a message that asked whether a Primary Key should be created now? I chose “YES,” despite the fact that I already had a field for the Primary Key. – Left all the remaining fields at the default Text [VARCHAR} type. – Changed a few numeric fields to the Number field type. – Changed a few numeric fields to the Tiny Integer field because they are whole numbers that will not be used in calculations. – Changed a field that contains a lot of text to Memo field type. – Changed a few Foreign Key IDs to the Integer field type. – Changed many fields to the Yes/No Boolean type. – Changed the ID field to Integer type… Entry Required. ![]() In the Type Formatting window, I made the following changes: I moved all the Existing Columns to the right column. In the “Tables” pane of Base, I right-clicked to PASTE the clipboard contents (that I copied from the Calc export).įrom the “Copy Table” option, I chose “Definitions and Data”, and “Use first line as column names.” NEXT > I copied all the records (rows & columns) in the Calc spreadsheet. Because of everyone’s comments, I switched to the internal database HSQLDB (instead of the default Firebird). I then created a new database in LibreOffice Base. (The original Access table contains 55 fields that already includes a unique ID, many Yes/No Boolean fields, some short text, a few integer fields, and one really long text Memo field.) I exported one of the tables in my original MS Access database to a Calc spreadsheet. The exact steps I took, and the error message I received, is as follows: I did make some progress, but still have a few questions. Create backups often.Īfter reading everyone’s comments, I tried the import again. odb-file and is unpacked on opening/repacked on closing. In case of HSQL-embedded the data resides inside the. This is done not by the database, but by the admin - usually YOU. Last point: Safety of your data is maintained by having backups, versioned backusps and external backups. In most cases you should see this inconvenient ways as features to ensure integrity of your data. Then you have to remove the relation first, make your changes and re-create the relation. If your columns are part of relations you may face situations where you can not delete columns at all, because they are required in the other table. You should check before deleting anything, if your conversion was flawless. After this is done you can delete the original column and rename the new one to the old name. If you dont wish to loose data YOU need to make precautions: Instead of delete and recreate you could create an additional column with new type and transfer all data in the new column. LibreOffice installs 2 database systems, you will at the moment usually deal with a embedded HSQL V1.8 as default, but Firebird is also possible to use (and it may be noted the default bilbliography is actually dBase) Other stuff may need other solutions, for example an ALTER TABLE statement in the SQL-Window. What can be done is limited to the elements Base AND database can handle in a common language. It is some kind of GUI to handle a database. The main concept to absorb is: Base is no database, it connects to databases. 1/18/2024 0 Comments Contour gauge ad![]() ![]() Architectural conservators rely on contour gauges for documenting historical profiles and replicating details during restoration projects.Woodworkers use them to transfer intricate designs onto wooden surfaces, ensuring accurate cuts and carvings. In metalworking, they are used to measure and replicate complex curves, enabling precise fabrication and machining.“A contour gauge provides a reliable and quantifiable method for assessing material loss and implementing appropriate maintenance or restoration measures.” Applications And Usage Of Contour Gauges In Various IndustriesĬontour gauges have diverse applications across multiple industries. To monitor the condition of structures prone to decay or corrosion. To detect material loss caused by corrosion or wear. ![]() Their precise measurements and ability to identify changes before and after specific conditions make them an essential asset in various industries. To summarize, contour gauges are a valuable tool for measuring shapes, detecting material loss, and monitoring the condition of structures. This measurement capability enables professionals to implement appropriate maintenance or restoration measures based on accurate information. In practical terms, a contour gauge offers a reliable and quantifiable method for assessing material loss. This functionality makes contour gauges highly useful in monitoring the condition of various structures, including metal prone to corrosion or wooden surfaces that are susceptible to decay. By profiling the surface before and after specific conditions or time periods, any changes in shape can be easily identified. Detecting Material Loss With A Contour GaugeĬontour gauges are versatile tools that serve the purpose of measuring shapes and detecting material loss caused by corrosion or wear. With a contour gauge, inconsistencies in shape can be quickly identified, ensuring precise measurements and high-quality results. This is especially useful in situations where identical shapes need to be replicated or when comparing a surface against a predetermined standard. By using a contour gauge, you can easily measure the shape of one object and compare it to another. Comparing Surfaces And Establishing Standard ProfilesĪnother significant application of a contour gauge is the ability to compare surfaces and establish standard profiles. This information can be used for various purposes, such as creating identical shapes, designing prototypes, or making repairs. The imprinted pin pattern on the gauge provides a precise outline of the cross-section of the object. Once the pins have accurately replicated the shape, remove the gauge from the surface. Gently press the pins against the shape, allowing them to conform to the contours. To profile a surface using a contour gauge, position the gauge onto the object or surface being measured. It is crucial to keep the pins parallel and in the same plane to optimize their functionality. These pins are essential as they mold to the contour of the object being measured, providing an accurate representation of its shape. The evenly spaced pins along the frame can be adjusted to fit various shapes and profiles. The frame is typically made from durable plastic or steel to ensure it can withstand pressure and maintain stability during measurements. Understanding The Structure Of A Contour GaugeĪ contour gauge is a tool that consists of a rectangular frame which holds a series of pins. By pressing the gauge against a surface, the pins conform to the shape, allowing for accurate measurements to be taken. These pins are kept parallel within the same plane and can be adjusted to fit the desired contour. They are commonly employed in various industries such as metalworking, woodworking, and architectural conservation.Ī contour gauge typically consists of a frame that contains a set of plastic or steel pins. Introduction To Contour GaugesĬontour gauges are invaluable tools used for measuring and replicating the cross-sectional shape of an object or surface. If you’re a puzzle enthusiast, you might find it interesting to know that some people have created contour gauge puzzles, where you must fit different shapes into the gauge to recreate a specific pattern or image. One lesser-known use of a contour gauge is in archaeology, where it helps experts recreate precise replicas of ancient artifacts or decipher enigmatic inscriptions.ĥ. In addition to construction and carpentry, contour gauges have also found surprising applications in fields like special effects makeup and prosthetics, aiding in creating lifelike replicas of body parts.Ĥ. The concept of contour gauges was actually inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawings of human anatomy, where he painstakingly depicted the contours of muscles and bones.ģ. Did you know that the first contour gauge was invented in 1901 by a French engineer named Simon Burelle?Ģ. The overarching goal is to ensure children only receive the NTMx they need for the duration they need them. NINJA aims to increase awareness and prevent NTMx-AKI by recommending daily monitoring of SCr and reducing nephrotoxin exposure when possible. In 2011, the team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital pioneered the Nephrotoxic Injury Negated by Just-in-time Action (NINJA) program, a quality improvement initiative that aims to improve safety and avoid harm from NTMx exposure in hospitalized children. 1 A similar study published by Askenazi et al 4 found that approximately one quarter of hospitalized patients with CF will develop AKI, suggesting that the incidence of AKI in this patient population is higher than what has previously been reported in the literature. The use of aminoglycosides as first-line therapy for CF patients has become a standard of care due to their pharmacologic activity against the most common offending respiratory pathogen in CF patients, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Certain patient populations, such as those with cystic fibrosis (CF), are routinely exposed to NTMx during hospitalization for pulmonary exacerbations. 2 Moffett et al 3 found that NTMx-AKI rates reach 19% to 31% in children who receive an IV aminoglycoside for more than 5 days, and the rate of AKI doubles when children receive 3 or more NTMxs simultaneously. 1 Nephrotoxic medication-–associated AKI (NTMx-AKI) has been identified as the primary cause of 16% of pediatric AKI cases. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is defined as an abrupt decline in renal function and is assessed by clinical biomarkers, such as serum creatinine (SCr) and urine output. ![]() Well for Fallout 2 that is, and I believe RolandDeschain79 that the method for Fallout 1 works.
